BUSINESS INCENTIVES

  • Tax Structure
    Wyoming is a no-tax haven.  We have no personal income tax, no corporate income tax and no inventory tax.  These result in huge savings to businesses and their employees compared to other states in the country.

  • Revolving Loan Fund
    The LEDC established a revolving loan fund as a means of gap financing for new and expanding businesses.
     
  • Challenge Loan Fund
    The Wyoming Business Council offers gap financing to help with business relocation efforts.

  • Work force Training Grants
    The Wyoming Department of Employment offers grants to assist employers in training employees.  Employers may be eligible to receive up to $2,000 per employee for training.

  • Trade show Incentive Grants
    The Wyoming Business Council offers a matching grant program to assist businesses with trade show marketing.

  • Rural Enterprise Business Grants
    The USDA offers its Rural Development programs to those non-metropolitan areas, such as Laramie , to assist with business growth and development.

  • Community Development Block Grants
    Through the Wyoming Business Council, LEDC can access grant funds to assist in infrastructure development for specific companies.

    - Commercial Air Service – United Express operates daily flights to/from Denver International Airport.

  • Cathedral Home For Children

    Cathedral Home for Children is a private non-profit organization, established in 1910 as an orphanage, which is now approaching its 100 year anniversary celebration in 2010.  Adolescent residential treatment is provided for children ages 10-21.  The Mae Olson Education Center is located on this north campus and is a fully accredited school through both the Wyoming and California Departments of Education.  Cathedral Home has two group homes (soon to be three) within Laramie.  The Laramie Youth Crisis Center is operated by Cathedral Home and provides independent living support, community crisis counseling, family preservation services and the ACES program for Albany County suspended and expelled students.  Cathedral Home also sponsors the Foster Grandparents Program in Wyoming.  Cathedral Home is one of the major employers in Laramie with close to 200 staff.  Cathedral Home’s staff are highly involved in the case management and treatment planning for youth receiving services.  Each cottage/home has an on-site Therapist and each cottage is managed by a Director.  Chemical dependency, substance use/abuse, grief and loss, abuse survival, sexual offenses, anger management, and social skill development are just a few of the areas addressed through treatment interventions and group work at Cathedral Home.  Individual and family counseling is also provided for residents and their families.  Cathedral Home is a charter member of the Wyoming Youth Services Association, is an active member of the Child Welfare League of America, and is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations.”

    Wyoming Business Council (WBC)

    The WBC’s key programs focus on developing assets to capture new business development at market initiatives, to build market share and applied research programs and to integrate technologies into the economic foundation of the state. Beyond its assistance to communities, existing businesses and recruitment prospects, the WBC has divisions dedicated to growing agribusiness, the tourism industry, the minerals and energy industry, technology, manufacturing and the film, arts and entertainment industry.

    Wyoming Small Business Development Center (SBDC)

    The SBDC works with other business organizations to provide educational resources and management assistance to new and existing businesses.

    Wyoming Research Products Center (RPC)

    The RPC supports University of Wyoming personnel and Wyoming entrepreneurs in matters relating to the protection, marketing and ultimate transfer of their intellectual property to industry. Through this they support the creation of new technology-related start-up ventures within Wyoming and encourage partnerships between University faculty and Wyoming businesses.

    Wyoming Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR)
