BUSINESS NEWS ARCHIVESNew Board Press ReleaseJune 05 At the LEDC’S 5th Annual Big Bash, which was held at the Snowy Range Ski Area on Saturday, Tim Stamp announced that the Partners in Progress campaign to raise $1.7 million dollars had exceeded that amount and had actually raised $2.12 million dollars. “This total has exceeded everyone’s expectations and has given us the tools to be able to focus more attention on being able to provide good jobs with good wages to Laramie . The leaders of Laramie have really stepped up and made a commitment to make a difference in the future of this community.” Stamp commented as he addressed the LEDC Board of Directors. A ballot with 23 candidates was presented to the group, the votes were counted and the results were announced for the 7 seats that were up for election. John Dooley, of Dooley Oil, Pam Dunnuck, of Pauline M. Dunnuck, CPA, LLC., Paul Greaser of The Acre Company, Mike Kmetz of IDES, Inc., John Guerin of Coal Creek Coffee, John Pope of Welldog, Inc. were elected. Karen Saunders , of The Mortgage Source was re-elected. “The total number of people vying for seats on this board, indicates the amount of interest there is in serving on the LEDC board and being part of the process in moving this community to the next level”, Stamp commented. “The amount of dollars that were committed by the business leaders of this community to the Partners in Progress and their desire to work closely with LEDC makes the success of our efforts a sure thing.” Stamp said . Outgoing board members were Craig Nelson, Pacific Power & Light, Pam Dovey, Bank of the West, Pennie Espeland of The Brick Bed & Breakfast, Paul Hoffman, of Delta Construction and Kerry Greaser of The Acre Company. “Each and every one of these board members has contributed an extraordinary amount of both time and effort to ensure the success of the LEDC. We couldn't have done it without them.” concluded Stamp.
